Gifted and Talented

"Gifted Education" refers to the education of those students whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so outstanding, they require special provisions to meet their educational needs.

Gifted students are capable of high performance, exceptional production, or exceptional learning behavior by virtue of any or a combination of these areas of giftedness:

  • General intellectual ability
  • Specific academic aptitude
  • Creative, productive thinking
  • Leadership and human relations skills
  • Visual and performing arts identification
Bauder's Mission for Gifted Students
The Mission of Bauder's Gifted and Talented Program is to recognize and nurture the development of exceptional abilities so that all gifted students demonstrate positive self-esteem, high-level thinking, and creative productivity.
Identification Process
Gifted and Talented services, for students identified by CSAP, GATES, Levels, and CogAT tests, are available for 4th and 5th Grade students. Once students are identified, an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) for Literacy and/or Math is created and support for those students begins.
